Cargo Eyeshadow Duos

I have to say that I am really enjoying these eyeshadows. They are pretty much everything you could ever want in an eyeshadow. They are beautifully pigmented, they have a lovely buttery texture, and with an eyeshadow primer, they last all day without fading or creasing. I will say, though, that I've never actually tried these without an eyeshadow primer, so I can't say how they'll fare without one.

They come in a somewhat simple kind of packaging. It comes in a little metal tin that has the brand name CARGO imprinted on the top, and the label is simply a sticker on the back. Opening the tin is sometimes a pain because some of them are more snug than others and can be difficult to open. Also, unless you store them upside down, you can't see the name of the duo because the sticker with the name is on the back.

These are pretty pricey though at $20 a duo. I've been eyeing these for a while now, but I've been pretty hesitant to spend that much on only a duo of eyeshadows. The recently went on sale on CARGO's website, so I decided to combine that with a 20% coupon code and was able to get these for about $5 each! So I decided to buy most of them to try them out.

Here are some pictures and swatches! :)

Packaging:

Boise: These two colors are pretty neutral colors. The lighter side is a matte off-white color, while the darker side is a shimmery taupe that come off a little bronzey.

Arizona: The darker shade is a really nice dark shimmery plum color, and the lighter shade is a really light gold color with a little more shimmer to it than the darker color.

Kentucky: These colors are absolutely gorgeous. The darker shade looks like a foresty green, but comes off as more of a dark shimmery olive green. The lighter shade is really unique; its an off-white color with a beautiful pink iridescence to it.

Corsica: This was the only duo that I was a little disappointed with. The pigmentation was lacking on this one, and the lighter shade felt really powdery. But if you spend some time to build up the color, it still turns out really nice. The darker shade is a nice light shimmery bluish color, and the lighter shade is a sparkly golden shade that comes off very light. Of all the duos I purchased, the lighter shade in this duo is the only one that is sparkly like that.

Nevada: I’m a little bit iffy about this duo. It doesn’t work too well with my skin tone. The darker shade is a shimmery coppery color that looks really pretty in the pan, but on me, it comes off almost orange. The lighter shade is just a nice shimmery off-white color that doesn’t really seem to go with the orangey color too well. But overall, these are really pretty shades, just not shades that I would necessarily use together on myself.

Sausalito: The darker shade is really nice shimmery coppery bronze color. Compared to Nevada, the darker shade is a little bit darker, and not quite as orange. The lighter shade is another shimmery off-white color that tends slightly pink.

Pasadena: This is the duo that first caught my attention. The lighter shade is a color that I don’t have anything really close to in my collection, and I think it is such a pretty shade. Its a light shimmery seafoamy blue-green color. The darker shade is a nice shimmery chocolately brown color.

Oregon: I really like this duo, its definately one of my favorites. Both the shades have a pretty gold shimmer to them that makes them really stand out. The darker shade in this duo is similar to the darker shade in the Kentucky duo, but this one is just a little bit more olively. The lighter shade is a really pretty light shimmery yellowy-green.
